Fair Isle Ribbed Scarf

The Ribbed Scarf is a continuous length of soft ribbed knitting, interwoven with by a broad band of Fair Isle. You can choose to wear it showing the pattern or not. The texture of the rib makes it quite light but you can wrap it twice around the neck and it will offer snug protection from the elements.
The Ribbed Scarf is 30 cm wide and 140 cm long.

Colourways & Patterns

These are accessories that give warmth, that stay with you. They are made with love, honouring the craft and knitting traditions to be found only on Fair Isle. The palette of colours is taken from the land and the sea, the wildflowers and houses, to be found in the far north. All items are knitted on my vintage flatbed knitting machine and finished solely by hand. I use only traditional Fair Isle patterns with a purposeful embrace of modern colour and form. Everything is knitted in locally produced 100% Shetland wool, spun and dyed on the Shetland mainland.

Handwashing with gentle wool soap in cold water is recommended. All items need to be set flat to dry (no dryer).

Most accessories are in stock. All clothing is made to order.

Please allow approximately 14 days from ordering to completion + delivery time a bit longer than usual due to the fact that we are posting from UK’s most remote inhabited island!
